Country: Australia, Heathcote & McLaren Vale
Tasting Notes: The season provided an excellent starting point, and the resulting wine is a clear indication as to why the Tyrrell family love the Heathcote region. The wine has a dense, purple colour and bright hue. It shows a pretty, lifted aromatic profile of dark berries and some white pepper. The palate shows intense, sweet black plum flavours which are given a subtle lift from the French oak, both of which are connected by a fine tannin structure and a bright acidity.
Varietal: 100% Shiraz
Pairing: The intense, berry fruit flavours and mouth-filling appeal of this rich red wine makes it a fine accompaniment for lamb, beef and game dishes. This wine is excellent drinking now and will cellar for up to six years.
